WALLIS SANDS STATE BEACH

Amenities here include bathhouses, hot and cold showers, lifeguards and a store. The beach is open weekends from mid-May to mid-June and daily from mid-June to Labor Day.

With nearly 10,000 acres, Bear Brook State Park is the largest developed state park in New Hampshire. There is plenty to keep you buy, including hiking, snowmobiling, biking, cross-country skiing swimming and fishing. Fort miles of trails lead explorers to seldom-visited bogs, marshes summits and ponds. At Beaver and Catamount ponds, you can rent rowboats and canoes. Across from the fly-fishing haven, Archery Pond, the younger crowd can enjoy a special fishing area. The park also boasts the only two archery ranges in the state.
HAMPTON BEACH STATE PARK

Situated along miles of sandy beach, the park is a great location for fishing, swimming, RV Camping and picnicking. Amenities include a public information center, first-aid, a comfort station and an amphitheater. The park is open on weekends from early May to mid-June, and daily from mid-June to Labor day.

Commissioned by Gov. Alvan T. Fuller as an ornament to his summer estate, Fuller Garden is a wonderful place to visit from May to October. May brings an extensive tulip display, and the Japanese Garden comes alive with wisteria, azaleas and rhododendrons. Some 1,700 rose bushes begin blooming in late June or early July and continue through the first killing frost.

The Prescott Park Arts Festival, one of New England's most popular outdoor summer events, is held here each July and August. During the festival, dozens of musical and theatrical performances entertain the crowd. Trails wind through special points of interest, including a marsh where beavers and deer can be seen and a mountaintop fire tower. Swimming in the Great Pond is a popular activity here. The park is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
